Academics - Course Programs(Posters)

The department of Electrical Engineering offers three Masters programs based on course work.

Students with a Bachelors degree in relevant engineering disciplines are eligible for admission. The admission is wholly based on the score obtained in the GATE examinations. Details regarding specific eligibility criteria for the different ME degrees and procedure for application etc. are available in the Admission Brochure.

Students have to complete 64 credits to qualify for the award of ME degree. Of these, 24-28 credits are for the project work and the rest are for courses. For each ME specialization, there are what are called hard-core, soft-core and elective courses. Hard-core courses are a list of courses that have to be taken. For soft-core, a list of courses are specified and the student has to select a prescribed minimum of courses from the list. The elective courses are chosen by the student. Each student, on admission, is assigned a faculty advisor who would assist the student in planning his/her academic program.
